WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT WITH MY FIRST FACIAL?

Facials are such an incredible treatment to add to your monthly skin maintenance. During your first facial you, we will discuss your overall skin goals. I will evaluate your skin and determine the best course of action for it. You will leave with hydrated, healthy, and happy skin. Each treatment includes exfoliation, extractions, and lots of relaxing massage.

WHAT PRODUCTS DO YOU USE?

I use Lira Clinical & Skin Script products in my treatment room. Each line was carefully selected with ingredients & budget in mind. Both lines incorporate rich plant and fruit ingredients that are carefully sourced. I chose these lines because they are effective and preventative.

HOW CAN I MAINTAIN MY RESULTS IN BETWEEN TREATMENTS?

There is not one size fits all but I know maintaining radiant and youthful skin is a reflection on you. My wide range of professional skincare products are all available to purchase and are tailored to your needs specifically. My goal is to provide you with expert advice to maintain your beautiful skin through appropriate homecare and skin treatments.

WHAT IS A CHEMICAL PEEL?

Chemical peels are cosmetic treatments that can be applied to the face, neck, chest, & hads. They’re used to improve the appearance or feel of the skin. During this procedure, chemical solutions will be applied to the area being treated, which causes the skin to exfoliate and eventually peel off. Once this happens, the new skin underneath is often smoother, appears less wrinkled, and may have less damage. Which particular peel is determined after a thorough skin analysis. There are a number of things that peels can treat including:

Sun damage
Melasma
Fine lines and wrinkles
Acne and scars related to them
Uneven tone and texture

WHAT WILL MY SKIN LOOK LIKE AFTER A PEEL?

Gone are the days of the infamous Samantha peel from Sex and The City. (if you have not seen that episode...get on YouTube STAT!) Peels have come a long way since then. There is no longer weeks of downtime and crazy lingering redness. Directly after a peel you may experience slight redness and tightness. This is a normal reaction. Some will have light shedding and some will experience heavy shedding or sheet peeling. I like to reiterate that the skin will usually always get worse before it gets better. The full potential of a chemical peel may not be present until weeks or months after as we are shedding layers of skin in a short few days. You may experience a purging phase where blemishes will surface. This is completely normal. All peels I perform are superficial peels working on the dead horny layers of the skin. For best results, I highly recommend a home care regimen that will be created for you. This will facilitate your best possible skin results and ensure you will continue to reap the benefits of your peel investment.

HOW IMPORTANT IS SUNSCREEN?

SPF will forever be the MOST important part of a new skincare regimen. Even on cloudy days, the sun still emits those harmful rays. I recommend a mineral sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher. If your makeup only has a menial amount..yes you need both. This a recommendation for life as it’s your best defense against aging and burning rays. Zinc Oxide is your best friend.

CAN I GET A FACIAL IF I’M PREGNANT OR BREAST FEEDING?

100% yes. Those hormones are probably going crazy. Your facial will be customized to your needs for relaxation and hydration. Certain ingredients and some modalities will be skipped during this time.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET A FACIAL?

Facials can be done weekly, monthly, or anytime that suits your lifestyle and budget. Corrective facials and treatments may be performed more frequently.

WHAT IS DERMAPLANING?

Dermaplaning is an advanced skincare service that involves using a surgical scalpel to lightly remove vellus hair and dead skin from the surface. It does not hurt and will leave you with a happy glow. NO your hair will not grow back more coarse or darker. These are your light fluffy hairs that are not to be confused with terminal hairs which are coarse and dark. These hairs are usually in the beard, under arms, & pubic area.

CAN I WEAR MAKEUP AFTER MY FACIAL, MICRODERMABRASION OR DERMAPLANING?

Yes! But if you can help it, give your skin 24 hours to breathe and benefit from all the wonderful products that were used during your service.

CAN I GET A SERVICE AFTER BOTOX OR FILLER?

I recommend your service be performed before or 2 weeks AFTER your Botox or filler because of the nature of what we are doing. This is to ensure your best results.

I’M ON ACCUTANE...WHAT CAN I GET DONE?

Because of the very sensitive nature of accutane, I will not perform any services. I do understand there are lower doses on the market now, but this is a professional decision on my part. I require you be off your prescription for 6 months to ensure the safest and best result possible.

I HAVE ACNE, WHAT IS THE BEST TREATMENT FOR ME?

I can help. The Confident Skin facial will help detoxify your pores and kill bacteria. This is a great facial for teens 14 and older as well. Parents may stick around for this service with their teen. This is also a customizable facial for adults suffering from adult onset acne or that pesky mask acne!
