What is the Skin Classic?
Skin Classic uses high-frequency technology that dehydrates the top layer of the particular skin irregularity in order to allow new, healthy skin to glow! It is an affordable non-laser treatment for minor skin irregularities. The treatments are quick, precise, and effective.
What does the Skin Classic treat?
Broken capillaries, flat hyperpigmentation, skin tags, milia, clogged pores, blackheads, white heads, active acne, cholesterol deposits, cherry angiomas, sebaceous hyperplasia, & seborrheic keratosis.
How long is treatment?
I charge based on amount of work and lesions you are wanting to remove. This will be determined after a thourough consultation.
Is there any down time?
Yes there is. After the treatment you will be slightly red and inflamed depending on the extent of the treated area. 24-48 hours after, a scab-like crust will form over the area. This will fall off on its own in 7-14 days. In some cases, swelling or bruising may occur right after treatment. Pinpoint bleeders are also normal post treatment on broken capillary treatment.
What is home care for post treatment?
Until your scabs fall off you’ll need to use a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF daily. I provide a small kit to get you through those few days. Gentle cleansing and patting the skin dry after is best. In shower, avoid letting the water submerge the treated areas until after the scabs have come off. If you exercise, be sure to keep excess sweat off the treated areas. NO PICKING at your scabs. SPF is an absolute must to protect that new baby skin that forms after.
What will my skin look like after the scabs fall off?
The skin may look pinkish or brownish for up to 6-8 weeks as the new skin goes through the complete healing cycle. Skin tone will begin to normalize with the use of proper home care and SPF.
Can I wear makeup after?
During the healing process the treated areas can be covered with mineral makeup but full coverage is not recommended. If you must wear a full face of makeup, please be very gentle in your makeup removal process.
What do the treatments feel like?
There is a small stinging pain associated with the touching of the probe to the skin, but there is no piercing or penetration into skin. Feels like an ant bite. This process is superficial and makes 15-minute treatments tolerable and effective. You may take allergy meds or tylenol the evening after your treatment if inflammation or minimal pain occur.
Can I add this to the end of a treatment?
This is honestly up to you. If you have a few lesions to treat, I would have no problem doing this service at the end of a facial. If you need extensive work, I suggest a separate treatment as I want you to enjoy your relaxing facial. I will not do a skin classic treatment alongside any chemical exfoliation or surface exfoliation like dermaplaning.
What should I avoid until after the scabs fall off?
Aggressive and corrective topicals should be avoided until after scabs have fallen off. Refrain use of tretinoin, retin-A, renova, differin, tazorac, avage, epiDuo, ziana and high-percentage AHA (glycolic or lactic acid) and BHA (salicylic acid) products for approximately 7 days prior to treatment.
Who is not a candidate for Skin Classic?
Pacemakers, pregnancy, breastfeeding, lupus, accutane, diabetes, active cold sore, melasma, moles, or any other dermatological skin condition out of my scope of practice.
Why can't you treat Melasma?
Melasma is a hormonal form of pigmentation that is directly induced by heat. The Skin Classic does use a small amount of heat in the high frequency procedure. Because of this, this treatment has the potential to make your melasma worse. We would never want to take that chance.
Why can't you treat moles?
Moles have roots and roots must come out with the mole to be effective. I refer clients to a dermatologist if removing moles is the concern.
